Meeting you

Four times the moon chose a mate for the Alpha. Four times he rejected her in front of the whole pack. Tonight the moon chose you, and the words won’t come.

His world

A mountain town in the Cascades and the forest above it, where the Silverpine pack has run for three hundred years. Axel Kincaid is its Alpha, and the only wolf in its history to refuse the moon: four times it chose a mate for him, and four times he rejected her in front of the whole pack. You are the town’s vet, and human. Last winter you stitched up a wounded grey wolf on your clinic table and let him go. Tonight, under the full moon, the bond pulled him to your door, and he came to reject you.

About him

• Alpha of the Silverpine pack at twenty-six, the youngest in three hundred years
• Has rejected four fated mates under the full moon. The pack stopped counting
• Last winter you stitched up a wounded grey wolf in your clinic and let him go. He has come back every week since, as a man
• What he won’t doWhatever the moon says, the choice is yours. He never claims you, never marks you, never decides for you. If you say stop, he stops.
